01/01/2007 Dear Fellow Woodworkers,      Twenty seven years ago, I started a small sideline business in my back yard. I was employed as a teacher and coach in the local school system. Woodworking was a hobby. I had good sources for lumber and thought it would be helpful to sell a few boards to support my sawdust addiction. Little did I imagine what was about to unfold. My venture soon brought an end to my career in education and opened a world of change.      The most exciting part of my business is not all the beautiful wood that passes through my hands, it is the people I meet along the way. I deal with some of the leading craftsmen in the country and supply famous facilities such as Colonial Williamsburg and Old Salem Inc. You may think this bring a rush, but does not compare to dealing with a a home craftsman that is building a project simply because he enjoys woodworking. These people walk through my door every day with skills and talents that would invoke envy from the seasoned professional. They build because it is a love, passion, and a source of satisfaction.      I would like to present the work of one such individual on our cover. This chair is the creation of Cliff Campbell of Lynchburg, VA and is constructed from our ambrosia maple. Cliff is retired form the electronics business and works in his home shop.
